True Sidereal Astrology Reports
Discover the Sky You Were Born Under
Your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment you were born. But what if the planetary positions in your chart were calculated using the actual constellations rather than the familiar seasonal zodiac?
True Sidereal Astrology takes a different approach, using the positions and boundaries of the constellations along the ecliptic to map the sky.
Through Mastering the Zodiac, you can explore your True Sky planetary placements, discover your personalized natal chart report and investigate the planetary movements unfolding over the next twelve months.
Whether you’re curious about your actual birth placements or want to explore the wider patterns of your celestial chart, there are resources here to help you begin.
True Sidereal Astrology is an approach to astrology that calculates planetary positions in relation to the actual constellations in the sky.
Unlike the Tropical zodiac, which uses twelve equal 30-degree divisions based on the seasonal cycle, True Sidereal Astrology takes the varying sizes and positions of the constellations into account.
The difference matters because the constellations have shifted in relation to the seasonal zodiac over thousands of years due to the precession of Earth’s axis.
Mastering the Zodiac uses the actual constellation boundaries along the ecliptic, applying a midpoint method to determine where one constellation ends and another begins.
This approach also recognizes Ophiuchus, the constellation located between Scorpio and Sagittarius along the Sun’s apparent path.
The result is a different way of mapping the planetary positions at the moment of your birth… one that invites you to look beyond the familiar zodiac signs and explore the sky itself.

How Does True Sidereal Differ from Tropical Astrology?
The main difference between Tropical and True Sidereal Astrology is the reference point used to calculate the zodiac. Tropical Astrology divides the zodiac into twelve equal sections of 30 degrees, beginning at the March equinox.
Its framework is connected to the seasonal cycle rather than the present-day positions of the constellations. True Sidereal Astrology takes a different approach. It looks to the astronomical sky and calculates planetary positions in relation to the actual constellations along the ecliptic.
Because of the precession of Earth’s axis, the seasonal zodiac and the constellations have gradually shifted out of alignment over thousands of years. This means that a planetary placement shown in a Tropical chart may appear in a different constellation when calculated using a True Sidereal system.
For example, someone who has always identified with one Tropical Sun sign may discover that their Sun is located in another constellation when they explore their True Sky chart. This is not simply a change of labels. It is a different way of calculating and interpreting the planetary positions at the time of birth.
Neither chart should be mistaken for the other: they use different zodiac frameworks. True Sidereal Astrology offers an opportunity to investigate the actual astronomical sky behind your birth chart.

Why I Recommend Mastering the Zodiac
My interest in True Sidereal Astrology comes from my own experience of discovering a very different picture of my birth chart. For years, Tropical Astrology identified me as a Capricorn. But the description never really resonated with me. Something about it didn’t quite fit, and I wanted to understand why.
When I discovered Mastering the Zodiac and explored my own True Sky chart, I found something quite different: my Sun was in Sagittarius. That discovery gave me a new perspective. The Sagittarius placement felt much more recognizable to me, and it encouraged me to investigate True Sidereal Astrology more deeply.
I used Mastering the Zodiac’s chart experience to see those placements for myself. It was an important part of my journey towards understanding the difference between the seasonal zodiac and the actual constellations.
That’s why I recommend starting with your own free chart. You don’t have to take anyone else’s word for it. You can enter your birth details, look at your planetary placements and begin your own investigation.
Mastering the Zodiac also offers personalized natal and yearly transit reports for those who want to explore their charts in greater depth. For me, discovering my True Sky placements was the beginning of asking better questions about the sky I was actually born under.
