Two Different Questions
There are two separate conversations happening under the banner of Human Design, and they are often mistaken for one.
The first is astronomical: is the chart calculated against the actual sky you were born under, or against a zodiac that has drifted out of alignment with the visible constellations? That question is about the coordinates themselves, and it is explored more fully in True Sidereal vs Tropical: Why Only One Chart Can Be True.
The second question is different. It is about the teaching itself. What happened after Human Design entered the world and an industry grew around it? What was simplified? What became standardized? What language became fixed? What was expanded, and what may have been left behind?

Restoring, Not Replacing
I did not come to this work by rejecting Human Design. I came to it by going deeper into the material itself. Since 2013, I have studied Human Design not simply as a curriculum to complete, but as a body of source material to question, compare, and understand from the inside out. I went back to Ra Uru Hu’s own words, including material from his advanced teachings, and followed places where the deeper architecture seemed to point beyond the standard teaching.
What I found led me toward restoration rather than rejection. Some of what I teach is my reading of Ra’s own material. Some of it goes beyond anything he taught directly and belongs to the framework I have developed through years of study and observation. I want that distinction to remain clear.
True Sidereal Human Design is therefore not an attempt to erase what came before. It is an investigation into what may have been overlooked, simplified, or left unfinished, beginning with the real sky and continuing into the deeper architecture of the body.
Where the Distortions Crept In
Standard Human Design teaching presents a list of different authorities, each connected to a different center and taught as a separate way of knowing. This can make the system appear far more complicated than the underlying mechanics require.
When I went back into Ra Uru Hu’s advanced material, I found a deeper structure beneath that surface teaching. In Rave Anatomy, Lecture One, “The Senses of the Body Graph,” he describes the Spleen, Ajna, and Solar Plexus through a tonal architecture he calls the binary. The centers are the microphones through which that deeper architecture becomes audible.
This is where my understanding began to change. What had been presented as many separate authorities began to reveal a smaller underlying architecture. The center can act as the microphone, but the microphone is not the whole mechanism.
Beyond Tropical and Sidereal
The astronomical correction is the foundation, but the restoration does not stop with the zodiac. True Sidereal Human Design begins with the real sky, then asks what else may have been left unexplored within the system.
Human Design draws from the I Ching, astrology, genetics, and other bodies of knowledge. My work takes the real-sky foundation further by looking again at the deeper architecture of the body and its connection to ancient myth. This is where my own framework begins. The Nine Officers, the Greek archetypes mapped to the nine centers, and the understanding of centers as microphones rather than drivers are not part of Ra Uru Hu’s original teaching. They are my own framework, developed through years of study, observation, and a simple question: If this system points back to ancient wisdom, what happens when we actually look for the ancient architecture? That question led me here.
How This Shows Up in a Reading
This is where the difference becomes practical. It changes what a reading actually looks like and what you receive from it.
A mainstream Human Design reading may begin with a chart and then move through familiar Type, Authority, Profile, center, gate, and channel descriptions
Much of the teaching is shared across people who carry the same surface mechanics. A True Sidereal reading begins with your actual sky and your actual chart. The reading is written from the mechanics shown in that chart rather than from a set of standard paragraphs. Your Type, Profile, Authority, centers, gates, channels, and the deeper structures of your design are brought together as one map. The goal is not to tell you who you are. It is to give you enough of the map to recognize what your own body already knows.
What You Receive
A reading is not a collection of definitions. It is a map assembled around your particular design.
Your reading brings the pieces of your chart together so you can see how they relate to one another rather than encountering each part in isolation. Your True Sidereal chart provides the astronomical foundation. From there, the reading follows the mechanics actually present in your design… your Type, Profile, Authority, centers, gates, channels, planetary placements, and the deeper structures included in your reading. The interpretation then brings those mechanics into relationship with the Nine Officers, ancient myth, the body, and the lived experience of your design. You are not being handed a generic description of someone with the same Type or Profile. You are receiving your map.

A chart can give you information. A meaningful reading can help you recognize yourself in it.
When the chart is calculated from the actual sky and interpreted as a whole, the pieces can begin to make sense in relationship to one another. Instead of asking you to fit yourself into a description, the reading gives you a way to observe your own patterns, responses, strengths, tensions, and ways of moving through the world. The map is not here to define you. It is here to give you something real to observe.
