The Ancient I Ching

True Sidereal Human Design
Older than every story we were raised on.
Explore the 64 hexagrams: ancient patterns of change, human experience, and the living sky.

The 64 hexagrams describe patterns of change in human life. In True Sidereal Human Design, these patterns connect with the 64 gates of the bodygraph and the timing of the planets in the visible sky. This library brings the hexagrams together in one place, giving you room to explore their meanings and discover how they relate to your own chart.
The Ancient I Ching reaches back further than the stories we were raised on. It began with people observing the world around them: the sky, the seasons, and the ways life changes. They saw that life does not move in a straight line. It moves through cycles of beginning, growth, challenge, decline, and renewal.
Over time, these observations took shape in 64 hexagrams. They are not predictions or commandments. They are reflections: patterns that invite us to look more closely at life and our place within it. Each hexagram offers a way to explore a moment in human experience. A change of direction. A challenge. A time to act or a time to wait. You don’t have to accept an interpretation simply because you read it here.
Explore the pattern, consider what it means to you, and test it against your own experience. Welcome to the Ancient I Ching: a quiet hall of mirrors, a place to explore, question, and discover.
What the Ancient I Ching Really Is
The I Ching is a record of patterns in the way life moves. It describes how things rise and fall, open and close, begin and end. These patterns give us a way to reflect on the changes we experience and the choices we face.
A hexagram is made from six lines. Each line is either solid or broken. The solid line represents the active principle; the broken line represents the receptive principle. Together, these lines form 64 different patterns, each offering a different way to explore the human experience.
A hexagram might describe a beginning, a challenge, a turning point, a release, a breakthrough, or a return. These are not fixed predictions or instructions about what you must do. They are descriptions of movement: ways to consider what is happening and how you might respond.
The hexagrams are not boxes to put people in. They are patterns to explore. Their value lies in what you notice, what you question, and what you discover through your own experience.
How the Hexagrams Connect to the Bodygraph
The Nine Officers affirmations bodygraph showing all nine Greek gods in True Sidereal Human Design. The 64 hexagrams have a connection to the human genetic code and to the 64 gates of the Human Design bodygraph.
The genetic code uses 64 possible codons, while Human Design uses 64 gates, each associated with a hexagram of the I Ching. These are distinct systems, but the shared number and the correspondences drawn between them are an important part of the framework explored in this library.
In Human Design, each gate represents a particular theme or expression within the bodygraph. These themes can relate to voice, choices, timing, relationships, creativity, fears, and strengths.
In True Sidereal Human Design, planetary positions in the visible sky determine which gates and lines are activated in a chart. As the planets move, their positions change, creating a changing field of transits alongside the placements in your natal chart.
This is where the Ancient I Ching becomes personal within this system. You can explore the meaning of a hexagram, find the corresponding gate in your chart, and consider how that theme relates to your own life. The ancient patterns become a language for exploring your design and observing how it unfolds through experience.

How to Use This Library
This library is organized so you can explore the 64 hexagrams and connect their meanings with your True Sidereal Human Design chart. You can approach it through two pathways.
Your Natal Blueprint
Explore the hexagrams associated with your conscious and unconscious natal planetary placements. These placements identify the gates and lines that form part of your birth chart.
The Living Transit Field
Explore the hexagrams associated with the planets’ current positions in the visible sky. These transits change as the planets move, offering another way to observe the changing themes within your chart and environment.
Begin
You don’t need to read the 64 hexagrams in numerical order. You can begin with any hexagram that interests you, or use your chart to find the gates and lines you want to explore.
Your True Sidereal chart provides the coordinates for this exploration. The hexagram library gives you a place to study their meanings, compare patterns, and reflect on what you discover through your own experience.
Your True Sidereal chart gives you the coordinates to begin. Use it to locate your gates, lines, and planetary activations, then explore the corresponding hexagrams. Let the mechanics show you where to look, and your own experience help you discover what the patterns mean.
A Quiet Invitation to Go Deeper

Has one of these hexagrams caught your attention? Perhaps its meaning connects with something you’re experiencing, or perhaps it has raised a question you’d like to explore. The Ancient I Ching offers a way to look more closely at the patterns of life. But what happens when you connect these ancient patterns with your own True Sidereal Human Design chart?
The Royal Decree ($222) brings your personal chart and the Ancient I Ching together. Along with your Incarnation Cross, you receive all nine center templates, each exploring the mechanics and teachings of its corresponding center. This gives you a deeper understanding of the gates and patterns that make up your design, and a foundation for exploring how they relate to your own life.
The chart is the map. The teachings give you a way to explore it. Your life is where the experiment unfolds.
